What this helps you do¶
Show how your embedded players actually perform once they're on a page — whether people start them, finish them, and open the transcript. Find it under Audio → Analytics.
Analytics only appear after you've embedded a player somewhere and people have started listening. Before that, the tab shows an empty state rather than zeros.
Filtering¶
Filter by episode with the episode picker, or leave it on All audio for account-wide totals. The time range chips change the window on the plays chart.
Range affects the chart, not the totals
The chart follows the range you pick. The Overview and funnel totals stay lifetime figures until the next server refresh.
Overview¶
| Metric | What it means |
|---|---|
| Total plays | Every play event, including resumes |
| First-time listens | Plays from someone who hadn't started this episode before |
| Resumed listens | Plays that picked up an earlier session |
| Completion rate | Share of plays that reached the end |
| Average listen time | Mean minutes per play |
| Total listen time | All listening time combined |
| Transcript opens | How often listeners opened the transcript |
Transcript opens are worth watching on their own. A high number means people are reading rather than only listening, which is a sign the transcript is pulling its weight as page content.
Plays over time¶
A daily chart plotting Plays, First plays, and Completions across the selected range, so you can see whether a promotion or a new placement moved anything.
Engagement funnel¶
Four stages: Started, Paused, Resumed, Completed. The gap between Started and Completed is the useful signal. A large drop with few resumes usually means the episode is too long for where it's placed; a large drop with heavy resuming means people want it but are listening in chunks.
Billing note¶
Listens are metered separately from generation. Every plan that includes audio also includes the first 10,000 listens account-wide, and additional listens are billed at $5.00 per 10,000 per month. See Account Types & Plans for how this interacts with your credit balance.
