Content Briefs¶
What this helps you do¶
Generate a structured, evidence-grounded content brief before writing or drafting anything — built from live search results, answer-engine data, and your own site's context, not from a model's general training knowledge.
Briefs are the required first step in Hi, Moose's editorial workflow: if a piece of work needs structured planning, Hi, Moose generates or confirms a brief before it drafts anything. This keeps drafts grounded in real research instead of becoming a blind text expander.
What goes into a brief¶
To build a brief, Hi, Moose collects and reuses a search landscape — a durable evidence bundle — rather than re-researching from scratch every time:
- Live organic search results and People Also Ask questions for your target query.
- Answer-engine snapshots (Google AI Overview, ChatGPT Search, and similar) and their cited sources.
- A bounded crawl of top-ranking competitor pages.
- Secondary keywords extracted from that competitor content, ranked by priority.
Because this evidence is saved as its own artifact, generating a brief and then generating FAQs or key points for the same topic doesn't require re-collecting the same research twice — and if you ask for fresh research, Hi, Moose runs a new pass instead of silently reusing stale evidence.
Generating a brief¶
- Enter your primary target query — the main query or topic the brief should center on, phrased the way a real searcher would ask it.
- Choose a template type. Different structures need different sections, proof, and calls to action, so this shapes both the brief and the eventual first draft:
- Blog post
- Glossary post
- Landing page
- Solutions page
- Product Feature page
- Hi, Moose collects the search landscape, then generates the brief: recommended word count, prioritized secondary keywords, People Also Ask questions to address, competitor analysis, and a structured outline shaped for the template you chose.
- Review, edit, and export the brief, or move straight into generating a draft from it.
Integrity¶
Brief generation is a real, model-backed step grounded in real evidence — not a template assembled from heuristic guesses. If Hi, Moose can't collect the research a brief needs, it says so rather than producing a plausible-looking but ungrounded brief.
Entitlements¶
Live research collection (search results, answer-engine snapshots, competitor crawling) is the cost-bearing step in this workflow. Paid Managed accounts draw on their single managed token balance; BYOK Premium includes bounded, explicit cloud-assisted research alongside local-first execution; BYOK Free does not include open-ended cloud-assisted research by default.
