Host: Alright, so looking at this main page for Hi, Moose, the first thing that jumps out to me is how much it’s aimed at small and mid-sized businesses that want to boost their brand visibility in both AI and traditional search. It’s really direct—no fluff, just a focus on actionable steps. Guest: Yeah, I noticed that too. There’s almost a sense of, 'Let’s skip the dashboards and just get to what actually makes a difference.' I mean, they literally say, 'Not another LLM tracker. It’s time for action.' So, um, it seems like they’re trying to set themselves apart from all the other tools that just show you data but don’t tell you what to do next. Host: Right. And I think the action part is pretty clear—they talk about 25-plus content checks that are tuned for both SEO and AI search. So it’s not just traditional optimization, but more about making your content visible to those newer AI-driven search features, like Google’s AI Overviews. Guest: Exactly. That part about 'citation alignment' caught my eye. So, if I’m reading it right, they’re helping users understand which queries Google’s AI is using to interpret a question. And then you can actually align your content with that interpretation. That’s... well, that’s a pretty practical way to improve how AI systems pick up and cite your site. Host: Yeah, and it feels like they’re acknowledging that the game is changing a bit. Traditional SEO best practices like good structure and people-first content are still important, but now there’s this extra layer of making sure AI systems can ground and cite your content properly. They even mention that including a TL;DR at the top of your blog post is more important than ever because it helps AI responses pick up your content more often. Guest: Huh, that makes sense. Especially with how much content is being generated and summarized by AI these days. Um, one thing I appreciate is that Hi, Moose doesn’t seem to be pushing growth hacks or vanity metrics. They say up front that they’re bootstrapped, built by an SEO, and purposely priced for small teams. There’s kind of this 'use it if it helps' attitude, which is refreshing. Host: Yeah, totally. And, uh, I like that they’re transparent about the platform’s origins. The founder, Sam, mentions he’s been in SEO for over 15 years and built Hi, Moose first for himself. It gives a bit of context on why the platform is so focused on practical tools instead of just analytics dashboards. Guest: Another thing I found interesting was the 'crawlable conversation' feature—where you can turn a blog post into a podcast that’s crawlable by search engines. So it’s not just an audio file, but something that could potentially help with SEO as well. That’s a clever way to make content more accessible and, hopefully, more visible. Host: Yeah, and they’re not just stopping at podcasts. There’s a whole suite of content tools—like the Content Brief Creator, FAQ Generator, and the Topical Authority Builder. Each seems designed to help small businesses understand where their content stands and what concrete steps they can take, rather than leaving users guessing. Guest: Right. And, um, the way they break down their AI-readiness scores is pretty granular. Like, you’ve got overall AEO scores, but then also category breakdowns for things like entity recognition, citation potential, and semantic clarity. I think that level of detail can actually help teams pinpoint where to focus their efforts. Host: For sure. And, on the pricing side, they mention a 'BYOK'—bring your own key—option, which, from what I gather, lets you supply your own API key for AI tasks to keep costs down. That’s a smart move, especially for small businesses worried about subscription creep. Guest: Yeah, plus unlimited team members on paid plans—honestly, that’s not something you see all that often at this price point. It’s nice not to have to worry about extra seat charges if you’re collaborating as a small team. Host: Uh, did you notice their stance on data privacy? If you’re on a paid plan, your data stays private; but if you’re on the free plan, some lightweight AI tasks might be handled by OpenAI or Nvidia models, which could use your data for training. That’s a fair disclosure, and it’s good to see them being upfront about it. Guest: Agreed. And, I mean, the whole vibe of the page is pretty straightforward—almost like, 'Here’s what we do, here’s why we built it, and here’s how you can use it.' There’s no high-pressure sales pitch. Even the FAQs are blunt about what they do and don’t cover, like how they’re focused on on-site, on-page action rather than off-site SEO. Host: Yeah, and I guess that’s what makes Hi, Moose stand out here—it’s about helping SMBs take real, practical steps to optimize for both search and the newer AI-driven landscape, without being locked into expensive, bloated platforms. Guest: Yeah, and for anyone juggling lots of content or just starting to think about how AI is changing search, these kinds of tools could be pretty useful. Anyway, thanks for listening along with us as we talked through what Hi, Moose is all about. Host: Yeah, appreciate you tuning in. Hope this helped clarify what you can expect from the platform. Take care.

FAQs

Some questions + answers

Is AEO/GEO different from just SEO?
There's significant overlap. Most core SEO fundamentals still apply and still matter.

What's changed is how those fundamentals are prioritized when content is interpreted and reused by AI systems instead of ranked as links. Tactics like clear structure, direct answers, and early summaries now carry more weight because they increase the likelihood your content is extracted, cited, or referenced in AI responses.

AEO/GEO isn't a replacement for SEO. It's a shift toward optimizing the parts of SEO that make content easier for AI systems to understand and reuse, especially at scale.
How secure is the platform?
Security is baked in from day one. Hi, Moose runs on Google's cloud infrastructure and Stripe for payments, so your data benefits from the same encryption and safeguards used by enterprise systems. We lock down access tightly, only store what's needed, and never sell or share your data.
Do you use my data to train AI models?
If you're on a Paid plan then, no, your content and data stay private.

If you're on the Free "Preview Mode" plan, we do use a free model from OpenAI and Nvidia for some lightweight tasks where an LLM is better suited, and both vendors may use scraped public data and our prompting in their training.
What makes Hi, Moose different from other AI SEO/AEO/GEO/SEO tools?
Most tools show visibility; few tell you exactly what to change and why.

Hi, Moose is built to be different. It's focused on actionable recommendations, based on real data and use cases, and kept affordable for small business. We're intentionally keeping prices low. If the current pricing doesn't work for you, reach out and we'll see what we can do.

We're not backed by VC money or shareholders. We built Hi, Moose because we needed it, use it daily, and we're assuming other SEOs will find it useful as well.
Does Hi, Moose offer tools for off-site SEO / AI SEO as well?
Not at the moment and that is definitely an important piece to search visibility. Our focus is on-site, on-page action levers you can pull right away that will help both your traditional and AEO efforts.
Who built Hi, Moose?
Hi, I did. I'm Sam. I've been working in SEO for 15+ years and I've been a developer for over 20 years. Back in 2004, I was a junior web dev tinkering with meta tags without really knowing what I was doing. Since then, I've learned a lot and have led SEO and growth for SaaS B2B and B2C companies, grown teams (currently lead an SEO team of 42), and built tools to solve problems that traditional SEO tools do not solve or are overpriced. Hi, Moose started as one of those tools, built for myself first, now open to others.
