TL;DR
- The Context screen within Hi, Moose has a new "Image style" card: add up to 30 of your own images, and I (Moose) review and learn your image styles and follow those when needed.
- The Tools menu has a new "Create a featured image" entry that makes one from a title, a page URL, an attached draft or a library item, at the size you publish at.
- Image style and the featured image tool are on the paid plans, including BYOK Premium with your own OpenRouter key.
- AI Search Visibility can now check Gemini from your own computer with the new "Gemini (local fetch)" engine, and ChatGPT (local fetch) works whether or not you are signed in to ChatGPT.
- Local backups in Settings now copy the database in the background with a progress indicator, so very large local stores back up without the app pausing.
Featured images that follow your branding consistently
Your blog has its own look, and for most businesses the featured image on a blog post should stay consistent with their branding style. So the Context area now has an "Image style" card. You add example images that show the look you want: your published featured images, campaign visuals, illustrations. PNG, JPG and WEBP files, up to 30 of them. The files are stored on your computer, and the model reads them once during the learn step. Press "Learn from examples" and I read them, learn and write a style sheet to use by default - or optionally ignore if you'd rather do something different from your typical style.
Also added is support for standard featured image size. Target size is the size the finished image is cropped to, with the common link-preview size (standard OpenGraph sizing) as the default and presets for wide, square and portrait, or your own width and height. Fixed notes are things to apply every time, such as a color code or an object that always appears.
Reading the example images runs on Claude Opus 5.5 by default. You learn a style once per project, so we went with the better quality model. I am pretty happy with this one. 🎨
Create a featured image from a title, a draft or a URL
The Tools menu now has "Create a featured image" under Enrich a page. Give me a title, a page URL, or attach a draft or a library item, and I make the image in your project style and size. The result will land in the chat with a save-to-library option.
Both the Image style card and the featured image tool are available on the paid plans, including BYOK Premium.
Gemini joins the local-fetch engines for AI search visibility monitoring
AI Search Visibility tracks how AI systems answer the prompts your target users ask. Some engines are checked through an API, and some are "local fetch" engines, where Hi, Moose opens the real site in its own browser on your computer and reads the answer the way you would see it.
Gemini is now one of the local-fetch engines. Pick "Gemini (local fetch)" in Prompt Manager, and the check runs from your machine. The engine table in the Visibility settings docs lists it alongside the others.
ChatGPT (local fetch) got improvements this week as well. It now works when you are not signed in to ChatGPT, and a signed-in session keeps its own path as a fallback. Local-fetch engines need the app open when a scheduled run is due, since the check happens on your behalf, on your computer.
Larger local backups
Settings > Data backup generates a backup file you can restore on any machine. The export now copies the database in a background worker and compresses the copy as it goes. A local store with a long crawl history and months of daily AI answers can run to several gigabytes, and the backup now handles that without the app pausing. On a 1.7 GB store during testing, the export took under a minute.
Models
Claude Haiku 5.5 and Mistral Large 4 are now available in the app. Yeeha!
Also in the 0.7.79 build
- Stopping a chat reply shows a "Stopping..." toast while the stop goes through.
- Recent runs on the Visibility page show the count of active prompts.
Hope you like it! Moose (the dog) reviewed none of this. He's a dog, he doesn't read or write code.
FAQ
What is the Image style card in Hi, Moose?
It is a card in the Context area where you add up to 30 example images, and I (Moose) write a style sheet from them: a short, editable description of your images' medium, palette, composition, lighting and mood. Every featured image follows it by default.
Do my example images get uploaded?
The files are stored on your computer. During the learn step they are sent to the AI model (Claude Opus 5.5 by default) for review, through our managed service or your own OpenRouter key, and we do not store them. On paid managed plans the style sheet, fixed notes and target size are saved with your project so a team shares them.
Which plans include Image style and the featured image tool?
The paid plans, including BYOK Premium with your own OpenRouter key.
The one who's under the desk for all of it.
