The Full Picture

Moose walks through a week where the Brand Truth Profile started feeding every writing tool, Google AI Overviews stopped needing their name tag, citation tables got cleaned up, the project list learned to show unread items, and the app got faster to open after a big crawl.

TL;DR

  • Content briefs, drafts, key points, and FAQs now read the ideal customer segments and notes in your Brand Truth Profile, so what Moose writes is aimed at the people you sell to.
  • The Context screen is split into "The basics" (how Moose sounds) and "The full picture" (the facts AI should get right about your brand), so it is clear what each profile does.
  • Google AI Overviews are now more reliably detected.
  • Free accounts have no prompt cap and no cadence limit on the local-fetch engines, and GPT-6 Astra joined the chat picker for paid plans or your own key.
  • The app opens faster on machines with large local databases, the project list shows an indicator when another project has unread inbox items, and citation tables no longer pick up tracking junk (null or garbled characters).

The full picture

The Context screen has two profiles, and this week they got labels that say what they are for. "The basics" is the Brand Voice: tone, audience, values. How Moose sounds when it writes for you. "The full picture" is the Brand Truth Profile: products, customers, competitors, claims to avoid. The facts AI should get right about your brand. (Brands are realizing more and more often how wrong AI can position them incorrectly - Moose helps find those sources that are steering LLMs incorrectly.)

That second one has a place for your ideal customer segments and notes about each of them. As of this week, those reach the content brief generations, the draft creation, the key points writing, and the FAQ generators, alongside the audience line from Brand Voice. If the audience line is blank, the segments are the audience.

What that means for you: fill in the full picture once and every brief after that is written for a named kind of buyer, with their situation in mind, instead of a general reader.

Google, without the label

On one of our Macs, Google started serving AI Overviews with no "AI Overview" heading anywhere in the visible page. The answer was there. The source chips were there. The words were not, and the detector looked for the AIO response, but at times, those prompts came back as no overview found.

The detector now finds the overview by its shape: the block of prose above the first organic result, with sources attached. Google also joined the list of engines that get a second try when a fetch comes back empty. For the many Hi, Moose users tracking Google AI Overviews via their Mac, your daily numbers should stop having gaps in them.

Cleaner citation tables

Citation URLs coming out of local-fetch answers are now cleaned before they count as sources. Tracking parameters are stripped, malformed links are dropped, and empty links no longer show up as a cited page. The Citations tab in AI Search Visibility shows the true source URL, in other words, no "goto" issues to contend with.

Which project needs you

The project list in the top-left menu shows a dot when another project has unread inbox items, colored by the most important inbox messages. If you're an agency customer with many different projects (sites), you no longer have to switch into each one to find out whether anything happened.

We also updated some of the icons to more clearly represent the target section in the app.

A faster open

One of our own machines had a local database with some larger site indexes after a large crawl, most of it page snapshots. At every launch the app ran a full integrity check on that file before the window answered. With the file already in memory that takes a couple of seconds. Cold, on that machine, it took 49 seconds.

The check now runs in the background, ninety seconds after startup, and at most once a week. If your version of the Hi, Moose app has felt slow to open after a big crawl, this is why, and this is the fix. Whoop whoop.

Free AI visibility tracking, without the cap

Free accounts no longer have a prompt cap or a cadence limit. Track as many prompts as you like, as often as you like, on the local-fetch engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Grok, Google AI Mode, and AI Overviews. Local fetch runs from your own machine, so there is nothing to meter. Paid plans add the cloud engines and scheduled runs in the cloud.

On the paid side, GPT-6 Astra joined the chat picker (used in AEO tooling) for managed plans and for anyone using their own OpenRouter key. It sits with the heavy hitters, and the pricing page now lists the current lineup so you can see where each model lands before you pick it.

Also this week

A new way to get started: sign up in the browser, Moose reads your (or your client's) site and suggests six searches worth winning, and the desktop app picks up from there with a mapped page, three suggested changes, a draft, and tracking on ChatGPT and Perplexity that starts on its own. The downloads page also works out which computer you are on and marks the matching build.

Moose, the dog, was consulted on none of this. He did get a walk.

FAQ

Where do I fill in ideal customer segments?

In the Context screen, under "The full picture", which is the Brand Truth Profile. Add segments and notes there and the brief, draft, key points, and FAQ tools read them from then on.

Does the Brand Truth Profile replace the Brand Voice audience line?

No. Both are read. The Brand Truth segments are the primary audience definition when the Brand Voice audience line is blank, and they sit alongside it when both are filled in.

What changed for Google AI Overview tracking on a Mac?

Google was serving the overview without the visible "AI Overview" label, and the detector needed that label. The detector now finds the overview by its position and structure on the page, and Google gets a retry when a fetch is empty.

Is there a prompt limit on a free account?

No. Free accounts track as many prompts as they like, on any cadence, using the local-fetch engines. Paid plans add cloud engines and scheduled cloud runs.

What changed about how the app opens?

A full integrity check on the local database ran at every launch, and on a very large database that could take close to a minute. The check now runs in the background and at most once a week.
